Terms and Conditions
Welcome to the ArtCycle Junior Reshapers at 1st Portchester ArtCycle. Our club is a relaxed, creative space where children can explore ideas, make things, and enjoy working together, using rescued materials.
Creating Together
We meet every Wednesday from 4:45 pm – 6:30 pm. Sessions are designed to be friendly and collaborative. Children are encouraged to help one another, share ideas freely, and try new things. All ideas are welcome, and everyone is expected to treat others as they would like to be treated themselves.
Screen-Free Sessions
To help everyone stay focused and enjoy creating together, we encourage sessions to be mobile-phone free. This allows children to be present, use their imagination, and enjoy hands-on making without distractions.
Looking After the Space
Everyone is asked to help look after the workshop space. Children should tidy up what they have used and return tools and materials at the end of each session so the space is ready for others.
Membership & Weekly Fees
There is a £15 non-refundable membership fee to join the club. This covers a Junior Reshaper T-shirt and an activity book. A £2 weekly fee contributes towards art materials, sundries, and shared equipment used during sessions.
Safety & Supervision
ArtCycle is a Community Interest Company. Sessions are led by volunteer leaders who all hold enhanced DBS checks. A qualified first aider will be present during sessions, and the supervision ratio is one adult to every four children.
Parents & Carers
Parents and carers are welcome to stay during sessions. Please make sure any important information, such as medical needs or allergies, is shared with leaders before your child takes part.
Feedback
Unless there is a safeguarding or safety concern, we gently encourage children to share their feedback directly. This helps them build confidence and learn how to express themselves in a positive and respectful way. We really appreciate parents supporting and encouraging their children to do this too.
Our club aims to be a friendly, relaxed, and supportive environment. As volunteers and leaders, our role is to guide and supervise the children rather than provide formal teaching.
If a child feels that the club isn’t quite the right fit for them, that’s absolutely okay—every child is different. We always encourage children to speak up, and they can be confident that they will be listened to and supported.
